When my clients ask me what is my style of photography, I always say my style is “Journalistic” and I document a wedding in Photographs. My photographs will tell the story of the wedding day and they will be pictures that you can look back on, 10 to 20 years down the road and they will still be pictures that you love. At every wedding, I do my best to shoot photographs that are “Timeless”
I had some free time today and I googled “What is a Photojournalist” , this is the explanation that I found:
What is a Photojournalist?
A photojournalist is someone who photographs an event in order to tell a visual story, the story of the event. Photo Journalists are professionals that are skilled at interpreting and communicating an event through a photograph or a set of photographs. A Photo Journalist can work for a news organisation reporting on war crimes or a political event or any event or person that requires a story to be told through images.
As for me, I am a “Wedding Photojournalist”. I document weddings in Photographs, my story is the Wedding that I am shooting. I work in a discreet way to capture the wedding as naturally as I can. That is my specialization and I love what I do 🙂
I am also a member of the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association). The WPJA has very strict membership criteria in the images that it’s members produce. I became a member of the WPJA a few years ago and I must admit that I was elated when I fulfilled their strict membership criteria.
